Don worked for MicroAge for a little under two years before it closed down in the early 1990s. Venturing out on his own, Don Scarlett Computers opened in 1993 with the help of some loyal customers. Some of his first customers included Township of Sarawak, Township of Keppel, Loucks and Loucks, Campbell and Wakeford, and Sprung Transport, some of whom are still valued clients.
After being in business for 3 years, Don opened up a store front, located in the front portion of the Wiarton Echo building, and renamed his business to Wiarton Office and Computers. However, he found that with having the storefront he began to loose the personal touch with his clients that helped to make his business grow. After 2 years, Don moved his buisness back into his home, from where he continues to run his business. Having been in business for over 21 years now, Don looking forward to providing service for the Grey/Bruce ares into the future.
